Marshfield girls hockey rips Lakeland

MARSHFIELD – Naomi Crump scored four goals and Nicole Karl added three goals to lead the Marshfield girls hockey team to an 11-0 rout of Lakeland on Monday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

The Tigers (8-4-1) scored six goals in the first period to put the game out of reach early.

Ashley Bauer (four saves) and Jala Zahn combined for the shutout in goal.

Abbey Besler added a goal and four assists for the Tigers.

“They set up in the zone and moved the puck around utilizing the plays we have been working on all year long during practice,” Marshfield coach Nate Sparbel said. “It was a great team effort and nice to see the girls work together for the win.”

Marshfield hosts Menomonie on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
