MARATHON – The Stratford volleyball team won all five matches to take first place at the Marathon Early Bird Invitational on Saturday at Marathon High School.
Stratford defeated Phillips 29-27, 25-16; Rib Lake 25-15, 25-19; Phillips again 21-25, 25-21, 15-9; Spencer 25-16, 25-9; and Three Lakes 18-25, 25-11, 15-9.
Kalyn Schueller had 52 kills and 57 digs, Daisy Yoder added 32 kills, and Emerson Roy had 69 assists for the Tigers in their five matches.
Laney Pankratz added 40 assists, Emma Roeper had 34 digs, McKenzie Novotny had 17 kills and Tria Tubbs chipped in 15 kills for Stratford.
Spencer results and statistics were not provided.
Stratford plays a nonconference match at Colby on Tuesday, while Spencer hosts Northland Lutheran on Tuesday.
