Marshfield girls hockey bounces back with win at Schwan Cup

BLAINE, Minn. – The Marshfield girls hockey team will play for fifth place after posting a 3-1 win over St. Francis/North Branch on Tuesday at the Schwan Cup Hockey Tournament.

The Tigers improve to 7-2 with the win and will take on the winner of today’s Baraboo Badger Thunder/Brookings Rangers game at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for fifth place in the White Division of the tournament. Marshfield lost its tournament opener Monday to Kettle Moraine 4-2.

Paige Johnson and Nicole Karl scored goals in the first period and Chandler Roy-Peterson added another in the third for the Tigers, who dominated the game.

Marshfield outshot St. Francis/North Branch 32-19. Ashley Bauer had 18 saves in goal for the Tigers.
