Edgar shuts out Auburndale football to take control of Marawood Conference

EDGAR – Edgar put forth a dominating performance to take down Auburndale 41-0 in a battle of Marawood Conference football undefeated teams on Friday night at Edgar High School.

Karter Butt scored on runs of 1 and 86 yards, and Kohlbe Weisenberger had a 75-yard touchdown run to help Edgar jump out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

After a scoreless second quarter, the Wildcats (7-1, 6-0 Marawood Conference) added three second-half scores while holding Auburndale out of the end zone.

Butt finished with 156 yards rushing and two touchdowns and Weisenberger added 131 on the ground as the Wildcats racked up 423 yards rushing on 40 carries. Edgar added another 118 yards passing.

Auburndale (7-1, 5-1 Marawood Conference) will wrap up its regular season at Colby (7-1, 5-1 Marawood Conference) on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
