Marshfield girls basketball wins fourth straight with dominating victory over Wisconsin Rapids

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team built a 28-point lead by halftime and rolled past Wisconsin Rapids 81-34 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The win is the Tigers fourth in a row as they improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the WVC. Rapids drops to 2-3 and 1-1 in the conference.

Marshfield dominated from the start, rolling out to a 44-16 lead by halftime, and outscored the Raiders by 19 in the second half as well to finish off the blowout victory.

Raella Schueller had 23 points and nine rebounds, Ayana Bousum added 19 points, and Ashley Grancorvitz and Emma DeLany each scored nine for the Tigers. DeLany made all three of her 3-point attempts as Marshfield finished with nine makes from long range overall.

Marshfield will enjoy a week off before playing a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at D.C. Everest next Friday, Dec. 15, at 7:15 p.m.
