Neenah sends Marshfield boys basketball to its first loss

MARSHFIELD – Neenah clamped down on Marshfield and sent the Tigers to their first loss of the season with a 58-31 nonconference boys basketball victory on Saturday at Marshfield High School.

Neenah (4-3) rolled out to a 32-13 lead by halftime and outscored Marshfield by eight in the second half to finish off the win.

Marshfield was held to 30 percent shooting (11-for-37) and was only 2-for-16 from 3-point range in the loss.

Brooks Hinson had 17 points for the Tigers (5-1).

Charlie Wunderlich had 22 points on 10 of 12 shooting for the Rockets.

Marshfield hosts Wausau East (7-1) for a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
