Marshfield wrestling wins nine matches, three by pin, in victory over Wausau East

WAUSAU – Marshfield won three matches by pin and nine of the 14 matches overall to pick up a 43-18 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference wrestling dual Thursday night at East High School.

Caleb Dennee (175 pounds), Mason Seidl (190) and Jon Sternweis (120) won by pin for the Tigers, who improve to 2-1 in WVC duals this season.

Tristian Merchant won by disqualification at 144, Easton Ledden earned a major decision at 138, and Joseph White (150) and Jaden Braund (113) both won by decision for Marshfield. Kashton Kilty also had a forfeit win for the Tigers.

Marshfield will host a quadrangular meet on Friday at Marshfield High School against Lodi, Fennimore and Holmen. Wrestling begins at 5 p.m.
