Loyal dominates second half, pulls past Columbus Catholic girls basketball

LOYAL – Loyal overcame a 10-point halftime deficit and defeated Columbus Catholic 60-49 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Loyal High School.

The Dons led 24-14 at halftime before Loyal exploded in the second half with 46 points to pull away for the 11-point victory.

Sheila Tellock had 17 points and Addysen Wolf had 13 for the Greyhounds (11-5, 7-4 Cloverbelt East).

Maggie Callaghan had 13 points to lead Columbus Catholic, which is now 7-11 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Dons have lost five games in a row and eight of nine.

Columbus Catholic travels to Chippewa Falls for a nonconference game at McDonell on Tuesday.
