LA CROSSE – Marshfield Columbus Catholic’s No. 1 doubles team of Lucas Michalik and Finn O’Neill were the only members of the Dons to qualify for sectionals after the WIAA Division 2 Boys Tennis Subsectional on Monday at La Crosse Aquinas.
Michalik and O’Neill improved to 9-6 with a win Monday and move on to the Division 2 sectional at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday. The top four finishers at No. 1 doubles will advance to next week’s WIAA State Individual Boys Tennis Tournament in Madison.
Stevens Point Pacelli leads the team standings with 24 points, just two ahead of La Crosse Aquinas. The top team after Wednesday’s sectional advances to the WIAA State Team Boys Tennis Tournament in Madison on June 8-9.
