Marshfield girls basketball rolls past Merrill, finishes regular season with fifth straight win

MERRILL – The Marshfield girls basketball team ended its regular season schedule with its fifth-straight win, a 45-26 victory over Merrill on Thursday night at Merrill High School.

Junior Darian Molter poured in 20 points to lead the Tigers, who wrap up their regular-season schedule with a 14-8 record and a 6-6 mark and a fourth-place finish in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Merrill drops to 10-11 and 5-7 in the WVC.

Ellie Fehrenbach added 10 points and seven rebounds for Marshfield.

Marshfield opens the WIAA postseason next Friday, March 1, with a Division 1 regional semifinal at D.C. Everest. Everest defeated the Tigers twice during the Wisconsin Valley season.

Merrill plays at Division 2 regional semifinal at home against Mosinee on March 1.
