Marshfield finishes third at home golf meet

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s top four golfers shot between 84 and 87 as the Tigers boys golf team finished third at a Wisconsin Valley Conference quadrangular Tuesday afternoon at Riveredge Golf Club.

Mike Field led the way with an 84, Michael Josephson fired an 86 and Pat Hayes and Jake Plank had 87s for Marshfield, which had a team total of 344 and finished 19 shots behind Wausau West (325) and 14 behind Wisconsin Rapids (330). D.C. Everest was fourth with a 364.

Aaron Bravick of Wisconsin Rapids was the meet medalist, shooting a four-over par 75.

Chris Stemen led the Marshfield JV team with an 84 as the Tigers had a team score of 359. Wausau West won the JV meet with a 343.

Gunnar Ovaska had an 89, Ade Dillon shot a 90 and Benji Streckert had a 96 to round out the Tigers JV team.

Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
