Marshfield golfers disappointing third at triangular

RHINELANDER – Following an impressive showing at a tournament in Sparta on Saturday, the Marshfield boys golf team finished a disappointing third on Tuesday at the Rhinelander Triangular at Northwoods Golf Course.

The Tigers shot a total of 356, led by Jake Plank’s 88. Mike Field and Pat Hayes had 89s and Michael Josephson had a 90 for Marshfield.

Rhinelander won the meet with a 327, five shots better than Stevens Point.

Ryan Hofmeister of Stevens Point had a 78 to earn medalist honors, one shot better than Tyde Terzinski of Rhinelander.

Marshfield was second in the JV meet with a 380, four shots behind Stevens Point. Rhinelander was third with a 411.

Ade Dillon of Marshfield was the meet medalist with an 86. Ian Thomasgard had a 96, Logan Johansson shot a 97 and Brian Ott had a 101 for Marshfield.

The Tigers begin their Wisconsin Valley Conference seven-leg round-robin tournament with a meet Friday at Wausau West.
