Greenwood sweeps twinbill from Columbus Catholic softball

GREENWOOD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team dropped a doubleheader to Greenwood 16-6 and 9-4 on Thursday.

The Dons (5-10, 4-8 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division) got two hits from Victoria Dieringer and two RBIs from Megan Arneson in the opener. Greenwood pounded out 16 hits in the victory.

In Game 2, Olivia Larson had two hits, including a triple, and the RBIs for Columbus, which plays at Owen-WIthee on Friday.

Katelyn Welsh took the loss in both games. She didn’t strike out or walk a batter in the 12 innings she pitched.
