Marshfield girls soccer shuts out Merrill

MARSHFIELD – Emily Wolfe scored twice and Allison Gruen added another goal to lead the Marshfield girls soccer team to a dominating 3-0 win over Merrill in a nonconference game Thursday at Griese Park.

Emily Haws added an assist for the Tigers, who improve to 1-0-1 heading into their game at Chippewa Falls on Saturday.

Marshfield outshot Merrill 14-2 and had eight cornerkicks to the Bluejays’ zero as it was on the attack for the majority of the game.

Kassi Todryk had two saves for the Tigers.

Marshfield opens its Wisconsin Valley Conference season Tuesday at Wisconsin Rapids.
